DISMOCAN is a Collaborative Fundamental Research project applied to the healthcare sector, whose main aim is to develop a “point of care” device that will make it possible to effectively detect concentrations of beta-lactam antibiotics, with the result of the analysis being obtained immediately at the site where the test was performed.
The aim of this project is to meet the need to monitor one of the most important and most widely-used groups of antibiotics: beta-lactams. For this purpose, a POC system will be developed, consisting of a small electronic instrument that will contain disposable cartridges, to analyse small blood samples via an optical fibre.
