The primary goal of this project is to promote healthy and sustainable food through different areas of focus. The first focuses on the production and hydrolysis of insect biomass to obtain ingredients of interest for pet food, considering their nutritional composition, sensory characteristics, technological properties, and even functional properties. The second focuses on comparing the two main insect species that offer the greatest advantages for animal nutrition: Tenebrio molitor and Hermetia illucens. Finally, the project aims to develop and promote a range of fresh vegetables ready to cook, encouraging the consumption of healthy foods in a quick and easy way, and offering healthy pet food rich in alternative proteins.
