Description

The main aim of the PREBI60+ project is to create a new technology company in order to extract various bioactives with PREBIOTIC activity from new sources, intended for elderly consumers. INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH will be conducted throughout the project in order to develop new products. Depending on the initial raw material, we hope to assess the viability of various extraction processes to obtain different kinds of prebiotic blends that can be included in various food matrices, maintaining their bioactivity. Finally, we will assess the upscaling of all processes and look at creating a biorefinery, with the intention of making full use of the waste generated during the prebiotic extraction process. Therefore, we hope to obtain products with high added value by reusing waste. During the development of this project, we will devise solutions that are tailored and adapted to the primary needs of people over 60 years of age and we hope to achieve financially viable food products so that everyone can gain access to a healthy and balanced diet, irrespective of their social status.
