Description

The main objective of the ADINET project is the technological assessment of processes that revalue polymeric waste by converting it into advanced, sustainable materials for making furniture.

The project will generate the know-how required to define the critical processes for creating polymeric materials based on fishing industry waste and will analyse the potential cross-industry value chains that might result from their development.

Consequently, the project will work on everything from characterising raw material and sourcing processes to the development and laboratory-scale testing of furniture parts made from this material, using additive manufacturing technologies and injection moulding. The methods of traceability for the parts and their life cycle will also be studied.

The implementation of the Adinet project will result in:

  • Knowledge on how to identify, select and obtain polymers from fishery waste.
  • Technology to recycle, revalue and develop recycled and recyclable polymeric materials for furniture 4.0 manufacturing.
  • Validation of eco-innovative 100% recycled and recyclable processes, materials and end products for the habitat and building equipment market.
  • Scaling and implementation of technologies in the Habic Cluster sector, which brings together more than 100 manufacturing companies, 90% of which are industrial SMEs.
Participants
  • AEI - HABIC, CLUSTER ASSOCIATION OF THE HABITAT, WOOD, OFFICE AND CONTRACT SECTOR
  • ONDARRETA MESAS Y SILLAS S.L.
  • LEARTIKER
Activities carried out by Leartiker
  • Establish a value chain for the recycling of used nets for making furniture, which will strengthen the region’s commitment to the circular economy.
  • Support Ondarreta in the development of its new product, through the transfer of knowledge on the development of recycled materials.
  • Following the application of the developed sustainable materials from fishing nets in the furniture industry, Leartiker will propose its use in other sectors. The first sector with direct application will be the automotive sector.
